NLP Master Practitioner
Advanced certification — deeper techniques, mastery, and breakthrough work
Master Practitioner builds on every Practitioner topic with deeper, more advanced techniques. Level 2 topics revisit foundations with advanced applications. New topics include values work, modeling, NLP coaching, HeartMath, and the capstone: giving and receiving a full breakthrough session. Cross-referenced against all Master Prac manual sections.
To Do — Resources Needed
- ☐Write full 4-MAT scripts for all Master Prac topics
- ☐Add schedule — how many days? Which topics on which days? Breakthrough sessions need dedicated time blocks
- ☐Define the breakthrough session logistics — how many students, how long per breakthrough, supervision model
- ☐Add nested learning loop annotations
- ☐Define prerequisite verification — how do we confirm Practitioner completion?
- ☐Add pricing for Master Prac certification
- ☐Identify which Level 2 topics can share media/transcripts with Level 1 equivalents
Curriculum — Teaching Sequence
Advanced presuppositions (9 categories), spatial & temporal prepositions, symbolic logic, inductive & deductive language, linguistic re-sourcing, prime concerns elicitation, decision destroyer, chaining modal operators
Prerequisite: Milton Model + Meta Model (Level 1)
Compulsion blowout, advanced swish patterns, Hakalau + submodalities, producing results with SMDs, decision destroyer
Prerequisite: All Submodalities topics (Level 1)
16 advanced verbal reframing patterns: meta frame, reality strategy, model of the world, apply to self, change frame size, hierarchy of criteria, consequence, another outcome, metaphor/analogy, redefine, chunk down, chunk up, counter example, intent, and more
Prerequisite: Reframing (Level 1)

Prerequisite: Full Practitioner certification
Logical levels of therapy (5 levels), strategy utilization/change/installation, advanced strategy design
Prerequisite: Strategy Elicitation (Level 1)
6 specific trainer anchor chains: procrastination to motivation, confused to clear thinking, panic to competent, stuck to going for it, not knowing to resourceful, overwhelmed to totally in control
Prerequisite: All Anchoring topics (Level 1)
The Hakalau technique (peripheral vision meditation) for accessing an expanded learning state. Meditation on the Light. Using Hakalau with submodalities for problem-solving and accelerated learning.
The advanced modeling process: find a model of excellence, elicit their physiology/strategies/beliefs/values, install the model in yourself, create a training that installs it in others. Imitation vs. cognitive approach. Separating essential from idiosyncratic.
Integrating Timeline Therapy and NLP techniques in a family/relationship context. Working with multiple clients simultaneously. Systemic change patterns.
Graves' 8 levels (Beige through Turquoise), Spiral Dynamics, Massey developmental periods (imprint/modeling/socialization), coaching through values levels, Coaching Values Inventory (CVI)
3 elicitation methods (classical, motivation, threshold), ranking values, toward/away-from values, 3 types of values conflicts
Submodality contrastive analysis to swap values positions — the core change technique using mapping across on values
Prerequisite: Values Elicitation
Regression using TLT, changing direction/location of the timeline (In Time to Through Time), detailed personal history, creating future events on the timeline
Prerequisite: Timeline Therapy (Level 1)
Multiple induction types (Ericksonian, Elman, progressive test), 6 stages of hypnosis depth, deepening techniques, post-hypnotic suggestions, multiple embedded metaphors, convincers, contraindications
Prerequisite: Hypnosis Introduction (Level 1)
Coaching cycle, 20 process frames, coaching vs. therapy/consulting/mentoring, personal strength assessment, internal drive history, effectiveness checklist
Prerequisite: Full Practitioner certification
Freeze Frame technique (5 steps), heart-centered intelligence, accessing intuition for creativity, decision-making, and relationship building
Identifying a client's prime concerns — the core issues driving their behavior and results. The elicitation process for surfacing what's really going on beneath the surface. Essential pre-work before conducting a breakthrough.
Deep review of reframing at the Master Prac level — context reframe, meaning reframe, 6-step reframe, and Sleight of Mouth patterns. How reframing is used throughout the breakthrough process to shift the client's model of the world.
Prerequisite: Reframing (Level 1)
Advanced parts integration at the Master Prac level — identifying complex parts conflicts, working with multiple parts, integration within the breakthrough context. Visual Squash as a key breakthrough tool.
Prerequisite: Parts Integration (Level 1)
Setting well-formed outcomes using the SMART framework (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound). Using Timeline Therapy to install goals in the future — floating above the timeline, placing the goal, and future pacing the result.
Designing effective post-session tasking for clients. Growth-oriented and interest-based tasks. How to create accountability structures that drive integration of breakthrough results into daily life.
The complete breakthrough session framework: client disclosure & agreement, detailed personal history, the breakthrough sequence (values elicitation, TLT emotional clearing, limiting decisions, anxiety process, parts integration, goal setting, future pacing), point of resolution, and post-session tasking.
Prerequisite: All preceding Master Prac topics
The capstone of Master Practitioner: each student conducts a full breakthrough session and receives one under supervision. Integrates every technique learned — TLT, hypnosis, values, parts, reframing, goals, and tasking.
Prerequisite: How to Do a Breakthrough
Final debrief and integration. Review of breakthroughs given and received. Learnings, feedback, and next steps. Celebration of completion and certification requirements.
